Erick Sommet

Born on the 16th of September 1968



Erick Sommet is an artist and designer who spends most of his time between London, Paris and Los Angeles. A man of many talents, his expertise ranges from film production design to Haute Couture. He is also a designer of furniture, interiors and tableware. Erick is noted for creating definitive inventive works using contemporary materials.



He was sculptor and Associate Production Designer on the feature film ‘Isle of Lesbos’ and worked on Wes Craven’s ‘Scream 2’ as well as other films in Hollywood and France. As a clothing designer, Erick worked in London for Robert Bowen, designer of the trademark “UNOFFICIAL MODE”. He has also created his own Haute Couture griffe “OYSTER” that deals exclusively with unique models for private clientele that includes artists and members of the English Royal Family.


As a sculptor, Erick’s works are characterized by the innovative use of industrial materials such as plaster, cellular cement, resins, etc. with elements of Art Deco and the late 19th Century. In his ink and oil paintings, one can find all the density of emotions that forms the personality of this multifaceted artist. An excellent colorist, he uses his highly skilled artistry to create symbolist pieces that always tell a story. Each of his paintings contains a deep mystery that the viewer has to uncover. His most recent series of canvases incorporates the modernity of photography with the classic tradition of oil painting.

Erick participated in the Bienal of Contemporary Art of Florence in 2008.

Erick is part of the Choir of the City of Cancun directed by Noe Garrido and a sttudent of the soprano Laura Chuc.


His works hang in private collections in Paris, Bordeaux, Los Angeles, New Orleans New York and London.
